THE BIG PICTURE

This part-time brewery position is responsible for all aspects of wort production during the evening/night brew shift. Hours for the shift will vary depending on the brew schedule from week to week, but will require brewing alone (after training is complete) as well as shutting down the brewery. This part-time position has the opportunity to grow into a full-time brewer role. Since we are a tight-knit crew, this position will also assist with various tasks as delegated by the Head Brewer. Candidates should share Terminal Gravity's commitments to quality, safety, collaboration, innovation, and bring an enthusiasm for brewing great beer.

THE DAY TO DAY

· Wort production with our 20 bbl brewhouse

· Weighing out and milling grain

· Removing spent grain from Lauter Tun

· Mash in on time according to schedule and tank availability

· Dry hopping through dry-hop ports

· Partake in beer quality sensory panel

· Support fellow brewery staff in their respective responsibilities as assigned by the Head Brewer

· Learn the ins and outs of commercial brewing in a hands-on production environment

ABOUT YOU

· Passion for great beer

· Brewing education and experience is a plus, but not required. Paid [gn1] training will be provided to the right candidate

· Excellent at multitasking, paying attention to detail, and holding a strict schedule

· Interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and communicate in a team environment effectively

· Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to work any shift in a 24/7 production environment

  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs

  • Able to manipulate valves and clamps

  • Able to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods

  • Able to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools

  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors

  • Able to work safely around hazardous chemicals, high voltage, hot liquids, compressed gases, pressurized vessels, etc.

  • Able to comply with all health and safety standards

Terminal Gravity Brewing was founded in 1997 in Enterprise, Oregon, a small town at the foothills of the Wallowa Mountains in Northeast Oregon. We brew traditional and innovative styles and feature a relaxing brewpub alongside the brewery.
